OUR MISSION
Presently, the examination of Data Center solutions is conducted from a dual perspective: technological and economic. However, to fully comprehend their impact on sustainability, we must incorporate Environmental, Social, and Governmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) into our analysis. Integrating these sustainability measures presents its own set of challenges and trade-offs. Currently, most legislation, research, and strategies are primarily geared toward mitigating environmental effects, leaving a significant gap in exploring and understanding Data Centers' social impacts.
We define social impact as the array of potential positive or negative consequences that individuals or communities may experience as a result of establishing or operating a Data Center. This impact can manifest in various domains, including infrastructure development, water management, creation of employment opportunities, provision of training, or the utilization of solar energy.
Therefore, this workshop aims to delve into methods of quantifying the social impact that a Data Center can have.
